Berman, LCSW, Ph.D. President and Director of the CenterDr. Laura Berman is Director of the Berman Center in Chicago, a modern facility dedicated to helping women repair their sex lives and find relief from menopausal symptoms. Dr. Berman is also an assistant clinical professor of OBGYN and Psychiatry at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She has been working as a sex educator and therapist for 18 years and is the leading researcher in her field.Considered a thought leader in her field, Dr. Berman has appeared in nearly every major publication, newspaper, radio and television show, including "Oprah," CNN, "Good Morning America," "The Today Show," The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire, Elle, Fitness, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Jane, Self, More and Redbook. Dr. Berman will star in Showtime's upcoming television series, "Sexual Healing," which will be filmed at the Berman Center beginning in January, 2006. She is a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, Ladies' Home Journal, and an ad hoc opinion writer for USA Today. She is also coa-author of The New York Times best-selling book, "For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life" as well as "Secrets of the Sexually Satisfied Woman: 10 Keys to Unlocking Ultimate Pleasure." After obtaining her Master's in Clinical Social Work and Doctorate in Health Education and Therapy (specializing in human sexuality) at New York University, she went on to complete a training fellowship in Sexual Therapy with the Department of Psychiatry, New York University Medical Center. Dr. Berman is Chair of the Women’s Sexual Health State-Of-The-Art series, an accredited program for the Council of Continuing Medical Education and currently serves on the foundation board of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS).
